Foster needed for 4 adorable kittens who are 5 weeks old. Finder said that the mother cat had not been seen in a week. They have a URI and need some TLC and follow up care.

History : Found with 3 littermates outside, mom has not been seen in a week. All kittens have moderate URI with conjunctivitis.
Subjective: Alert, active
Observed Behavior – Allows handling, slightly tense, jumps occasionally
Evidence of Cruelty seen – None
Evidence of Trauma seen – None
Objective
QAR, MMs pale pink, BCS 3/9
EENT: OU eyes crusted shut with yellow purulent discharge – OD lids moderately swollen. Moderate chemosis OU. Mild crusty nasal discharge. Clean ears.
Oral Exam: All decid teeth erupted
PLN: No significant enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA Occasional harsh inspiratory sounds when pt breathes in deeply.
ABD: Soft, slightly distended, no masses palpated
U/G: Male intact
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: Normal externally
Assessment:
1. Moderate URI – likely viral with secondary bacterial infection, some upper resp obstruction
2. Underweight
Prognosis: Fair-good
Plan:
1. Doxycycline 0.15 ml PO SID x7 days
2. Gentamycin opth solution OU BID x7 days
3. Fortiflora SID x7 days
4. Vitamin B12 injection
5. Nebulize BID x4 days
