I am a neutered male black and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 10 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 03/12/2017 from NY 11226, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

03/15/2017 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 4 NC – SEVERE CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 10.0 LBS.
03/15/17 Monitor condition S/O: BARH. Attention seeking. Eating with excellent appetite. Water bowl empty. Large amount of urine and normal stool in litter. EENT: Early iris atrophy, no ocular or nasal discharge HL: No sneezing A: Changing age to 10yrs+ based on physical exam. Blood work shows increased glucose – R/O Diabetes mellitus P: CBC wnl, showing low platelet count but likley due to clumping (detected) CHEM : Mildly increased globulins (5.9g/dL) and total protein (9.1g/dL), Glucose high 308mg/dL NH group interested. Not starting on insulin therapy at this time. Rec urinalysis to check for glucose/ketones. Good prognosis with appropriate management

03/12/17 19:55 Midnight is an 8 year old male Black and white DSH mix; he was brought in to ACC as a stray, by his finder’s. Midnight has no known health issues and injures, and has no vet history. Around the finder’s he was friendly and gentle and allowed the finder to pet him and hold him. He has not been around children while in the finder’s. Midnight has been around other cats and is very relaxed and playful and affectionate. Around dogs Midnight is growls whenever the dog tries to approach him. He has no bite history. Midnight does not like baths, however likes to be held and giving soft pets. Midnight will struggle to go into the carrier and tries to escape. He is described as playful, affectionate, and friendly by the finder’s and has a medium activity level. Midnight likes to follow the finder’s around the home, and is feed wet and dry food of the Friskies brand twice a day. He is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter and likes to scratch on the bedpost. Upon intake Midnight was very friendly and allowed the counselor to hold and pet him. He did struggle to go into the carrier but the counselor was able to collar him and take a photo.

KNOWN HISTORY: Midnight was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. His finder reports that he was social/ friendly and allowed all handling. He hasn’t been around children but has been around other cats and was relaxed, playful, and affectionate with them. Midnight growls whenever the finder’s dog approached him. The finder describes him as playful, affectionate, and friendly with a medium activity level. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Friendly playful approachable easy to handle EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage recently cleaned Reaction to assessor: Midnight comes forward to greet the assessor then gently rubs his cheeks against the kennel bars. Reaction when softly spoken to: Midnight reaches out with paws and continues to solicit attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Midnight is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Midnight leans in for attention with his tail erect and allows petting all over. He purrs softly when rubbed on his cheeks and gives the assessor soft head butts. Reaction to being picked up: Midnight is calm, relaxed and has a soft body when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Social, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner- Midnight interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
