10/01/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/01/16 20:12 BASIC: Mickey came into our care center as an owner surrender. He is a neutered fifteen year old brown tabby. Due to a sudden move, his owner is no longer able to keep him. SOCIALIZATION: He may approach strangers depending on the situation and how comfortable he feels. Around kids he becomes timid and will attempt to run and hide in fear. He had been around children ages four and sixteen and would go into a hiding spot whenever they came to visit. Similarly he appears fearful of other dogs and will run away from dogs. He had not been around cats so his behavior around them remains unknown. BEHAVIOR: He had exclusively used his litterbox with no accident outside. He doesnt not seem to enjoy baths and will try to jump out of the tub. However he enjoys having his coat brushed and will sit still while he is being brushed. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Some of his favorite activities include following the owner around the home or engaging in independent play. He had been kept indoors only. Mickey becomes vocal and will meow a lot when he is hungery. He had been given a diet of salmon/chicken dry food only. His favorite places to sleep had been on the floor, especially if there was a throw rug around. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: Mickey did not want to leave his carrier. His door was opened and he was given time to come out on his own but he did not want to exit. Eventually the counselor was able to get him out at which point he allowed the counselor to pet him. Outside the carrier he was headbutting the counselor. He was active and moving around on the counter top and looking for a way to get down. He did not want to enter the carrier again so the counselor then offered him a bigger carrier which he entered on his own.
