***DIED 08/29/17*** FOUR MONTH OLD MERCURY NEEDS SOME ASTRONOMIC HELP TONIGHT TO SAVE HIS LIFE! MERCURY is a 4 month old kitten who was found injured outside. He has a pelvic fracture and hind limb lameness – some abrasions from “road rash” and is dehydrated. Mercury also has a heart murmur. Needs immediate medical. Fostering will help him get the vetting he needs. PLEASE CONSIDER FOSTERING MERCURY SO HE CAN RECUPERATE AND LIVE A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE – MUST RESERVE HIM BY NOON!!

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Affectionate ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/21/17- Sitting up on bedding, soft eyes and body. Meowed on approach, then started purring. Good appetite for treats! Ate treats from my hand, leaned and arched into pets, purred, marched in place. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Mercury immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Mercury remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Mercury head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Mercury interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
