MAXX – A1072452
Safe - 5-10-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
**SAFE 05/10/16** VULNERABLE! How long has it been since MAXX knew a soft bed, delicious food, or a loving touch? How long has it been since someone called this guy by a special name? It’s possible that MAXX has gone years without the kind of treatment most pets enjoy multiple times a day, which is an absolute shame. The ACC have MAXX down as a stray, and the medical notes do make it seem like this guy has been looking after himself for some time, doing the best he could against a hard world. The ACC don’t know how old he is but “5” is a nice, round number so that’s what they finally landed on. MAXX earned a respectable EXPNOCHILD rating and deserves to know what it’s like to be cared about, cared for, and maybe even loved. Please work extra hard to make that possible by finding a foster/adopter for MAXX, tonight!

05/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Maxx looks neutral in the cage when approache dby the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Maxx remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, chattering in place. Reaction to touch: Maxx accepts the stroke while he chirps, but becomes anxious with the touch and attempts to slowly nip then continues to chatter. Once given a stuff toy he began to mount it and chirps some more. Placement determination: Experience / no child Maxx is social and affectionate, but appears to be easily overstimulated. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal, so that interactions can be ended before Maxx becomes overstimulated. Many of these behaviors may completely eliminate soon after neutering, or diminish it to a manageable frequency. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
