***DIED 09/18/16 *** MARVELLOUS MAXINE’S OWNER DIED AND FAMILY DECIDED THEY COULDN’T KEEP HER DUE TO A PET CONFLICT!! MAXINE’S owner died about 6 months ago and she had been living with a family member – until now. Suddenly they felt there was a pet conflict and whisked MAXINE off to the kill shelter. MAXINE is only 7 years old. She is already spayed. MAXINE was said to love to follow her owners around and cuddle up next to them! She plays gently with adults however was not too fond of a big dog that lived in the home, although she never used her claws when swatting at him. MAXINE is a good girl who has many more years of kitty love to give the right purrson! Can that be you? MAXINE has perfect house manners and uses a scratch post. She sounds like the purrfect kitty to bring home. BUT THE ACC WILL GIVE MAXINE ONLY TIL 12 NOON TO FIND HER NEW HOME

08/06/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/06/16 15:37 BASIC INFO Maxine is a female DSH cat, ~7-8 years old. She was living with an elderly person who passed away 6 months ago. Her current family took her in then, but relinquished her due to pet conflict; they feel she would be happier in a home without other pets. SOCIALIZATION Maxine is shy with new people. She approaches them after seeing them around for about 1 month. She plays gently with adults. She hasn’t spent time with children. She lived with a large dog and would hiss at him and swat him (never with her claws) if he approached. She’s never bit or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Maxine is nervous and cries in the car. She is nervous but tolerant during baths. She doesn’t mind when someone trims her nails, brushes her, picks her up, holds her, or wakes her up. She’s nervous when put into a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Maxine’s family describes her as friendly, playful, affectionate, mellow, shy, talkative, and medium energy. She follows her family and cuddles up next to/against/between them. She played with stuffed toys. She lived inside and slept with her owners. She ate dry and wet Purina foods and got Temptations treats. She’s littertrained, used a hooded litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. She scratched a vertical scratching post covered in rope. INTAKE Maxine was tense with wide eyes and often crouched/crawling. She pulled her head away as I collared her. She tried to walk to the corner of the counter but was tolerant while I held/moved her and scanned her (-). She walked into her new carrier. She didn’t resist or vocalize.
