ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 01/08/18 Lying in back of kennel, body low and tense. Makes eye contact when spoken to and hisses, ears flattening as pupils dilate. She tolerates petting along her head with the bear-claw while flinching and hissing. Growls. Uncomfortable, needs more time to adjust. 01/09/18 Hunched over in back of kennel, ears forward and eyes alert. Tail is wrapped around body. She lowers herself and begins to growl and hiss when I open the kennel door. Body relaxes and she steps forward, sniffing the air, when I place down some treats. She steps right to the front of the kennel to eat them when I place a few more down. I click and reward each time she approaches me or sniffs my hand. Very food motivated – has potential to warm up. 01/10/18 Lying down and resting near the front of the kennel. She lifts her head up to make eye contact, meows softly and leans forward to investigate. She quickly retreats to the back and hisses when I opened the door. Low body posture, sniffs around and starts rapid breathing. I was able to coax her forward by talking softly to her. She rubs against the cage furnishings, arches her back and meows softly. She accepts gentle petting along her body and gives head butts. Doing better! 01/11/18 Lying in back of kennel, ears forward.
