08/31/17 15:22 Basic Information: Mauro is a 10 years old neutered male brown tabby domestic short hair cat. She was gifted to her previous owner by a family member when Mauro was a kitten. She has no known health problems or injuries. Socialization: He is shy for a few minutes around strangers. He has not spent time with children or other pets. He was gentle towards his previous owner. He has no known bite history. Behavior: He was relaxed during the car ride here however he was not accustomed to travel outside of the house. He has no litter box problems. He has no litter box problems. He struggled during baths and nail trims. He was not bothered when picked up and held but only by her previous owner. For a new family to know: He was described as a friendly, affectionate and sometimes shy. His activity level was high in the home. He followed the previous owner around the house. During Intake: Mauro had dilated eyes, his body was tense and his tail was tucked. He allowed the admissions counselor to transfer between carriers. He allowed collaring but attempted to flee.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – calm allows exam EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Mauro was curled up inside his cubby, resting. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mauro looks at the assessor with soft eyes, but places his head back down to rest again after. Reaction to cage door opening: Mauro looks around and meows softly. Reaction to touch: Mauro sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting. He approaches the front after and looks around while being pet. Reaction to being picked up: Mauro remains calm and continues to purr when held.
