MAURO – A1081031
Safe - 7-22-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
***SAFE 07/22/16*** It’s pretty awful for a cat to find himself at the ACC because his owner is ill and can’t take care of him. Mauro is a 7 year old gray and white tabby mix who misses his former owner so much that he is constipated. Unfortunately, this “care center” can’t figure out how to get around his hissing and growling to give him a laxative so they let him continue feeling ill. What a simple condition to treat! ANY vet it side of that shelter is capable of curing this for him. The only thing a vet can’t cure is his broken heart. Please help him mend the pieces and apply to adopt or rescue him tonight. He is rated no children so a nice, quiet home would suit him fine.

07/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Mauro looks tense, sitting upright on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mauro remains in place, alert with eyes wandering and stress meowing. Reaction to touch: Mauro accepts a brief touch on the head then hisses and growls at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Mauro tolerates brief petting, but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
