MARY – A1061391
Safe - 1-5-2016 Manhattan Rescue: ASPCA Please honor your pledges: https://www.aspca.org/nyc
***SAFE 01/05/16*** MARY and JACK are two of a group of innocent kitties who were found, abandoned, in an empty apartment. Who would do such a thing? Despite their predicament, MARY and JACK have remained loving, outgoing, wonderful cats while at the ACC. In fact, MARY even has glowing volunteer comments! “A volunteer writes: Sweet Mary came to ACC on Christmas Eve and she’s been an absolute doll. Mary is a gentle cat who loves interacting with new people and being petted. She came to us as a stray and has a gorgeous creamsicle coat that will shine much brighter when she finds her forever family. Mary is around four and has passed her exuberant kitten phase, but she still has a playful, excited spirit and infinite love to offer.” It would be a shame for MARY and JACK to be killed at the shelter tomorrow afternoon, considering everything they can offer a foster or adoptive home. Put more unconditional love into the world by saving MARY and JACK tonight!

12/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mary was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She had a tense and stiff body upon intake, but allowed handling. She wanted to retreat back into her carrier during her initial medical exam, but still allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Mary was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mary meows and head-butts the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Mary remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Mary stands on her hind legs and head-butts the assessor. She is very affectionate throughout the interaction; purring, her tail quivers, and she is continuously head-butting. Reaction to being picked up: Mary remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Beginner Mary interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
