03/31/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

KNOWN HISTORY: Martellus was brought in to the care center as a stray with unknown history. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – timid ENRICHMENT NOTES: Asleep in litter box, woke when spoken to. Continued to lay in place when door opened, leaned into pets, closed eyes and dozed off. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Martellus becomes alert, crouched position on his cage bedding when approach by the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Martellus seems unsure with eyes wandering. Reaction to touch: Martellus slowly sniffs the assessor’s hand than allows the stroke, but remains cautious. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Motionless VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced Martellus tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
