Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
Behavior Determination: Experience
Marley is at-risk with an experienced determination. She was initially very timid and unsure in the shelter environment, but she has warmed up with attention over the course of a few days. She may take time to warm up to new surroundings.
Details on my behavior are…
KNOWN HISTORY: Marley was timid upon intake. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Skittish, will flee, but examined and handled with moderate restraint. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 09/27/17 Lying in back of kennel with a low body. She tolerates petting along her head and body while flattening her ears and vocalizing softly. She flinches each time my hand passes along her head. Needs more time to adjust. Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Marley was alert and curled up tight on top her kuranda bed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Marley’s ears bend slightly, and she keeps her eyes focused on the assessor’s movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Marley is tense and wary of her surroundings. Reaction to touch: Marley leans away and closes her eyes when the assessor extends his hand out. She’s tense when touched, lip licks and takes a few minutes for her to warm up and get used to contact. After a few soft pets she tilts her head, purrs then leans in allowing rubs on her head and cheeks. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Experience Behavior Asilomar TM – Treatable-Manageable BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Marley may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
