Friendly, playful, young, affectionate and super handsome. He has a gorgeous gray/blue coat and green eyes. Unfortunately, he is in a top kennel, so I don’t think he is getting the attention he deserves. Come on over to the Manhattan Care Center to meet him. I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 01/30/2016 from NY 10032, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

02/11/16 12:37 sneezing noted on rounds move to iso treat with 7 day course of doxycycline 1/31/15 Hx: Wound healing on L side of neck S: Very friendly, rolls to get petted, easy to handle and examine. Focal exam only. O: 2-3 cm long scab on left side of neck, with dry, flaky alopecic skin to either side. Underneath the scab, skin is crusty and erythematous, with no swelling or pain. A: Wound on L side of neck – R/O ringworm vs. trauma Short-term prognosis: Excellent to good P: Need to wood’s lamp pt to rule out ringworm 1088

01/30/16 15:29hrs Marco is very affectionate and relaxed with his family. He enjoys being petted and held. He lived in a home with adults only since he was born. Marco is an indoor and outdoor cat. He is accustomed to going outside to the yard especially in the summer time. He would come when called. Marco will stay to himself when outside and didn’t interact with the neighborhood cats. BEHAVIOR Marco is accustomed to being petted and held. He will rub against his owner or meow loudly when he wants attention. He will sit in his owner’s lap while his owner is eating. Marco is bathed 2x a month. His owner stated that he won’t scratch or fight to get away. When there are visitors in the house, he will greet them and attempts to rub against them. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW He uses a covered litter box inside the house. He will go outside of his litterbox only if its not cleaned. Marco doesn’t really play with toys inside the home. Marco will scratch his owner’s fabric sofa. He would normally scratch the arsm fo the chair. His owner stated that he rather lie around or recieving attention. Marco is accustomed to eating wet and dry food seperately. He will sleep in bed with his owner. DURING INTAKE Marco displayed dilated pupils while hidning in the rear of his carrier. He would allow petting on his head but would flatten his ears in response. When he was allowed out of his carrier, he attempted to flee. When he was touched on his back, he didn’t respond aggressively. He attempted to curl into the nearest corner while hiding his face. He was collared, scanned for a microchip(negative) and photographed.

Marco’s previous owner reports he is very affectionate and relaxed with his family. He enjoys being petted and held. He has lived in a home with adults only, and is an indoor and outdoor cat. He goes outside into the yard, especially in the summer time. He comes when called and usually stays to himself when outside; he doesn’t interact with the neighborhood cats. He will rub against his owner or meow loudly when he wants attention. He sits on the owner’s lap while the owner is eating. When there are visitors in the house, he will greet them and attempts to rub against them. Reaction to assessor: Marco was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Marco sniffs around, stretches, and then plops down and lays on the ground. Reaction to cage door opening: Marco remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Marco was a bit hesitant, but sniffs the assessor’s hand and leans into petting. He arches his back when touched and starts to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Marco remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Marco interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
