***SAFE 07/18/16***Marecelo is a gray and white 1 year tabby surrendered along with his housemates to the ACC for the moving excuse. Sounds more like someone just didn’t want cats around after they were out of the kitten phase. This boy behaved sweetly for the ACC which echoed his former owner’s notes. He likes to be picked up and cuddled. He’s still young and needs someone to grow up and old with. Please apply for this pink nosed cat tonight!

07/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Marcelo’s previous owner reports he has been socialized with young children and got along well with them, playing gently. He is friendly around strangers, but is a little shy. He was relaxed and affectionate with the resident cats he lived with, however. Marcelo enjoys getting brushed and being picked up and held. He doesn’t like going into carrier, so the owner wrapped him around in a towel to easily place him inside. He was described as shy, calm, and affectionate with a medium activity level. He tends to lounge around his favorite spot at home, relaxing. Reaction to assessor: Marcelo was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Marcelo doesn’t respond, but looks at the assessor and is neutral. Reaction to cage door opening: Marcelo becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Marcelo sniffs the assessor’s hand, but was hesitant of touch. He shifts away, but slowly accepts petting. He appears wary of the environment and seems unsure. Behavior Determination: Experience Marcelo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and any future home with young children should conduct a thorough interaction before adopting.
