A volunteer writes: Marbles got my attention at first by meowing and sticking her paw out. Right away I saw that she is both adorable and adoring. It was hard for me to say goodbye. She is like the Eveready love kitty. Anyone looking for a great friend who loves to get head massages and reciprocates with cheek hugs and head butts, look no further, Marble is your girl.

Marble is described as friendly, affectionate, playful and shy around new people. She has a medium activity level and likes to play with balls and string toys. In the home, she liked to follow the owner around from room to room. Marble was kept indoors only and is litter box trained. She used an uncovered litter box with clumping litter in the home. Owner had a scratching post in the home made of wood that Marble liked to scratch on. She would also scratch on the furniture in the home. Marble was fed both wet and dry food (brand not provided).

Behavior during intake: Marble had a tense body and was hiding in the box. Counselor was able to pick her up, collar her, scan for a microchip and take a picture without any issues. She allowed counselor to pet her on the head and back.

Lying down near the back of the kennel. She shifts her body weight and leans in to sniff my hand. She accepts gentle petting on her head and along her body. Rolls around, stretches out paws. Not ready to leave the litter box.

Marble was perched on top the kuranda bed and makes eye contact with soft eyes.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Marble rolls over on her side when spoken to softly.

Marble lip licks and turns her head away.
Reaction to touch:
Marble sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts gentle pets on her head. She gives head butts, rolls around, then inches forward and hops down from her perch. Her tail pilo-erects and sways, but she remains calm and doesn’t display any further reaction. She allows petting all over, and nuzzles up for attention.
Reaction to being picked up:
Marble was a bit tense when picked up, but she remains calm and allows all handling.
