Reaction to touch: Maisy was hesitant, but she leans forward to sniff the assessor’s hand. She leans away to avoid contact, but tolerates gentle petting with a slow approach. Her ears tilt sideways and her body twitches when pet along her back while her tail sways energetically back and forth. She uses her paw to gently push the assessor’s hand away after. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate, Lively VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy initially, Curious RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent – Maisy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home and family. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Although her previous owner reports she does well in a home with children, we recommend any future home with young children conduct a thorough interaction before adopting because of her stress levels in the shelter environment.
