During intake Mahogany allowed the Counselor to collar her and take her picture with no problems.

KNOWN HISTORY:
Mahogany was brought in with limited information on her behavior in a home environment. She lived in a home with one adult and several other cats. Around the resident cats, she was relaxed and affectionate. When meeting ACC staff members for the first time, she was shy but allowed handling.

Observed Behavior – Active, attention seeking, squirming a lot towards end of exam
ENRICHMENT NOTES:

Timid, crouched inside litter box. Slow blinks and turns head away when I called her name. Appears hesitant, but slowly starts to warm up with attention. Food motivated-enjoys party mix treats. Slowly rises up when pet along her back. Leans in when rubbed on cheeks, gives head butts. Needs time to warm up.

Mahogany was lying down with her paws extended, looking at the assessor with soft eyes.

Mahogany leans forward to sniff around.

Mahogany gets up and leans her head against the kennel door, and then rubs against the cage walls.

Mahogany accepts petting and leans in for petting, purring. She tries to explore outside of the kennel after.

Mahogany remains calm and allows handling, but wiggles to be placed back down after.
