Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – flees, but does not make any aggressive gestures, terrified/tense ENRICHMENT NOTES: 05/28/17- Curled up by the back, looking out with dilated eyes. She focuses on me and starts to breathe rapidly, stiff and motionless. Will sniff hand when placed slowly in front of her, but she slowly tries to shift away. Extremely nervous and unsure, but allows gentle petting on her head and body. Curled up at back of cubby, eyes fully dilated, pressed into corner. Held completely immobile when pet on head. Became alert and flinched whenever pet on body. Started lip licking after being pet. Showed no interest in tuna, treats, or normal food. 5/29/17- Hunched at back of den, eyes dilated. Became alert when door opened. Flinched and shifted slightly when touched, but no other response. Still showing no interest in treats or normal food. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Magikarp remained tense body, turned sideways hiding in the cat den during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Magikarp becomes alert, pupils dilated, intense gaze at the assessor. Reaction to touch: Magikarp maintained distance then hissed followed by head facing down while allowing slow petting. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
