MAGIC – A1080228
Gone - 7-11-2016 Brooklyn
*** GONE 07/11/16 ***CALLING ALL NEW HOPE ANGELS! 911!! MAGIC is such a heartbreaker! Would you ever guess that this 3 year old lyx point mix was found as a stray? With his exquisite markings and beautiful blue eyes, he should be curled up happily in some lucky person’s lap. But instead this poor boy came from living the hard life on the streets, to being shoved into a cage at the shelter. Magic is stressed out at the ACC, and who can blame him? It’s loud and scary there, and he’s just had his entire world turned upside down. He doesn’t understand what’s happened to him. Kitty’s like this will often shine after being placed into a relaxed home environment. Magic has so much potential, he just needs to be shown a loving hand and some patience. However the ACC don’t care about his potential. They want to KILL HIM AT NOON TOMORROW FOR HIS FEAR! He needs a NEW HOPE RESCUE to pull him to safety! If you’d like to offer to FOSTER/ADOPT him, please contact the Help Desk at [email protected] to begin working with a New Hope partner NOW! Magic’s last hours are slipping away as you read this, please hurry!

07/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Magic was resting on top of the cat den When spoken quietly: Magic looked at the assessor calmly Reaction to door cage opening: Magic hisses and retreats into the cat den Reaction to touch: Magic continues to hiss and does not allow contact Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Magic was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. He seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
