*** SAFE 08/19/16 *** SECOND CHANCE FOR KITTEN TRIO—THREE KITTENS, TWO RATINGS, ONE AWFUL FATE WAITS FOR THEM TOMORROW…..Meet MARIO, MARY and MACKY, three glossy tabbies who were taken to the ACC as strays on August 10th. Yes, that means the ACC is in SUCH a hurry to kill these innocent kittens, they were only given the length of their stray hold and NO MORE! MARIO and MARY have EXPNOCHILD ratings and can be reserved online by a potential adopter, or foster/adopted through a New Hope rescue, but little MACKY is just a bit more nervous at the shelter and as such, earned a NEW HOPE rating. MACKY can ONLY be saved by a New Hope rescue and for all three, the danger cannot be overplayed. The ACC has been listing a massive amount of cats to be killed every night, and they have had to start in on the killing as soon after noon as possible, just to get that daily chore done. Wouldn’t is be GREAT if the euth technician had NOTHING TO DO, tomorrow? Make that possible, and save three young lives, by advocating everywhere for MARIO, MARY and MACKY, tonight!

08/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Macky was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Macky was curled up in the litter box with her tail at her side and her ears flattened. Reaction when softly spoken to: Macky lip licks with wide eyes focused on all movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Macky hisses and lies motionless. Reaction to touch: Macky’s ears bend flat and she swats when you approach her. She continues to hiss, shifts away from contact and currently doesn’t allow any handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Macky is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
