LYRIC – A1062565
Safe - 1-22-2016 Manhattan Rescue: Amsterdog Please honor your pledges: http://www.amsterdog.org/
***SAFE 01/22/16*** “Left with a friend” but brought to the shelter after 24 hours—what kind of “friend” pulls that nonsense?! Now LYRIC is one more GOOD GIRL on tonight’s euth list, and she is such a good girl she even has STAFF comments! “A staff member writes….What makes life better than sitting back, relaxing, and listening to your favorite song? How about a cat that loves nothing more than doing the exact same thing! Meet Lyric. This songbird is sweet, gentle, and independent. She loves nothing more than laying down and listening to her favorite tunes. Her purrs are as melodic as a lullaby, and her meows are pitch perfect. If you are in the market for a solo artist to liven up the show, come see her live at the Manhattan Care Center and strike a tune with Lyric today!” LYRIC needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to save her life, so please advocate strongly for her tonight!

01/09/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
01/09/16 11:25 Lyric A1062565 is an est. 5 year old female white & black DSH feline who was left in the care a day ago with the finder from a friend and they aren’t able to keep her. The finder stated to me they aren’t much of “cat people” but felt bad for her and thought it best to be brought in to us. They stated Lyric hid during her overnight stay with them and struggled to be placed into a box they had to transport her in. The original owner stated to me Lyric has never been to a veterinarian, she hasn’t been around children or other animals, she hasn’t had her nails trimmed, or been given a bath. Lyric didn’t have a scratching post and she scratched on furniture. Lyric ate dry store brand cat food 1x a day. Lyric will come to you for affection/attention and doesn’t like to be picked up/petted or held much. Lyric also uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter within. During intake Lyric attempted to hide while growling, hissing & swatting when we attempted to remove her from the box to be placed into a kennel. We used linen to cover her so we could remove her minimizing her stress. Once in a kennel Lyric retreated to the back of the kennel but allowed us to give her a litter box, food (both wet & dry) and water. To avoid stressing her once more we took her photograph while in her kennel.

01/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Lyric hasn’t been around children or other animals, she hasn’t had her nails trimmed, or been given a bath. Lyric didn’t have a scratching post and she scratched on furniture. Lyric ate dry store brand cat food once a day. Lyric will come to you for affection/attention and doesn’t like to be picked up/petted or held much. Lyric also uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter within. Reaction to assessor: Lyric ignores the assessor completely. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lyric continues to ignore the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Lyric remains motionless and does not respond. Reaction to touch: Lyric hesitates briefly, then rubs against the assessor’s hand. Behavior Determination: Experienced, no children. Lyric tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children
