SAFE 5/16/17 Adorable little Luna appears to have a possibly fractured pubic bone and nerve damage, and needs follow up medical care as soon as possible. This pretty girl allowed all handling and was very sweet with medical staff.

Estimated age: ~6-7weeks, female
Microchip noted on Intake? No
History : Stray kitten, finder had for about 3 days, she has been straining to urinate and doesn’t eat well
Subjective:
Observed Behavior – Q/BARH. Allows all handling, ate small amount
Evidence of Cruelty seen – No
Evidence of Trauma seen – No
Objective
P = WNL R = WNL BCS 4/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: Teeth clean, pink mm
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, very large soft bladder, expressed with light pressure, small amount of normal feces palpated
U/G: Female
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat, wide based stance in hind end with mild ataxia, muscle wasted in hind end, bruising at caudal ventum, urine/staining around vulva; no palpable fractures/injuries, comfortable on palpation
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities — abnormal innervation to bladder
Radiographs: Possible fracture of pubis on lateral view, +/-sacral fracture, +/- subluxation of lumbosacral junction
Assessment: Traumatic injury to hind end with nerve damage – R/O fractured pubis and sacrum, +/- subluxation of lumbosacral junction
Plan: Continue to monitor in medical. Express bladder q12 hrs. No other treatment indicated at this time
Prognosis: Fair
SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to underage/underweight and injuries
