***SAFE 09/24/16***LOVELY LUNA WAS FOUND IN A DUMPSTER!! Someone found LUNA in a dumpster and they got her out and took her home. Sadly, they decided they couldn’t keep her due to having too many pets. But rather than finding her a home, they thought the ACC would do that – WRONG!!!! All the ACC did was give LUNA a cold and put her on tonight’s euth list. LUNA was GOOD WITH THE KIDS IN THE HOME AND ALLOWED ALL HANDLING BY THEM AND WAS ALSO FRIENDLY AND PLAYFUL WITH THE 2 DOGS. LUNA even tolerated being bathed!! Wow what a great cat! On her assessment LUNA was social and affectionate BUT because she became a bit overstimulated, they punished her with an EXPNOCHILD rating which does not reflect her true PURRSONALITY. DON’T LET LUNA DOWN TONIGHT – CONTACT A RESCUE RIGHT NOW AND OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT THIS WONDERFUL CAT!!

09/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Luna’s finder stated she was around two small size dogs and was tolerant and playful with them. Finder also has a 10 year old female cat. Luna was seeking play from this 10 year old cat but the cat would not tolerate the play. Luna spent time with kids ages 4 and 7. She tolerated all handling from the kids. Reaction to assessor: Luna looks neutral, sitting upright on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Luna engages the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Luna head-butts the assessor’s hand, but during the touch she began to hiss and swat while she continues to solicit. Placement determination: Experience / no child Luna is social and affectionate, but appears to be easily overstimulated. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Luna becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance.
