I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/04/2016 from NY 10468, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-080369.

11/04/16 13:36 Basic Info: Luma A1095829 is a 6yr old male gray tabby DSH feline who was given to the owner as a gift from a friend 6yrs ago & is being surrendered along with his brother Loki A1095831 due to allergies. They were last seen by a veterinarian a few yrs ago and currently have no known health problems/injuries. Socialization: Around strangers Luma is friendly/outgoing. He hasn’t lived with children or dogs but was gentle, relaxed, playful & affectionate with the adults in the home and Loki. Luma hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Luma isn’t bothered by the following: being brushed, being in a car, being picked up/held or with being placed into a carrier. He hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting, been bathed or had his nails trimmed. For a New Family to Know: Luma is described as friendly, playful (at times), mellow, independent & quiet with a low-medium activity level. When the owner is home he follows them around sometimes. Luma enjoys ball & mouse toys at times and is an indoor only cat that sleeps around the home. He eats dry and wet Meow Mix 1-3x a day. He is uncovered litter box trained with clumping litter within. Luma doesn’t have a scratching post(s) and scratches on items in the home. Intake Behavior: Luma allowed all handling but made several attempts to run away. Luma allowed to be scanned (-), collared and taken pictures of. He didn’t seem to mind being picked up/held and was placed into a kennel with ease where he retreated to his litter box but he’ll come to the front of his kennel if someone approaches.

Luma’s previous owner reports he is friendly and outgoing around strangers. He hasn’t lived with children or dogs, but was gentle, relaxed, playful, and affectionate with the adults in the home and his sibling. He isn’t bothered by being brushed, being in a car, being picked up and held, or being placed into a carrier. He was described as friendly, playful, mellow, independent, and quiet with a low-medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Luma was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Luma looks at the assessor with her ears tilted slightly, but sniffs around and appeared curious. Reaction to cage door opening: Luma lowers her body, but looks around. Reaction to touch: Luma sniffs the assessor’s hand and head-butts gently. He seems wary of his surroundings, but will lean in for petting and arches his back. Reaction to being picked up: Luma was a bit tense, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Average Luma interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
