SAFE 9/21/17 Luka is an adorable kitten that needs placement asap. She has a URI. Luka is friendly and needs a nice foster home where she can receive some TLC.

Luka A1125972 – 7 week female gray tabby, OS
Luka came into the care center and was attention seeking. When his ears were rubbed, he nuzzled his head against the couneslor. The allowed all handling without concern and continued to purr.
DVM Intake Exam
Estimated age: ~7-8 weeks
Microchip noted on Intake? negative
History : o/s
Subjective: BAR, ~6% dehydrated (prolonged skin tent, dry gums)
Observed Behavior – very sweet. Easily handleable and easy to pick up. Enjoys being held and did well for all medical handling and procedures. Purring
Evidence of Cruelty seen – no
Evidence of Trauma seen – no
Objective
P = wnl R = wnl BCS 3/9
EENT: purulent nasal d/c bilaterally, mucopurulent ocular d/c ou with corneal scarring OU, third eyelids elevated and OS>OD, mild waxy debris in ears
Oral Exam: kitten dentition, no oral ulcers noted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic but audible upper respiratory congestion
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated, distended
U/G: FI, no vulvar d/c, no MGTs
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, flea dirt noted, no masses noted, unkempt and malodorous haircoat with diarrhea around perineum
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment:
URI with conjunctivitis
Corneal scarring OU
Dehydration
Underage
Diarrhea
Plan:
Stain eyes OU-negative
LRS 15ml SQ SID x5d
Start erythromycin ou BID x10d
Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x10d
Start metronidazole 15mg/kg PO BID x5d
Recheck at day 5, 10
Recheck daily until improves
Move to medical iso
Prognosis: Fair
SURGERY: temporary waiver for surgery due to underage and URI
