KNOWN HISTORY: Lucy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Friendly, allowed handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 04/26/17 Sitting half-upright in litterbox, alert and breathing heavily. She’s injured. She watches me as I approach, tolerating petting along her head with her ears flattening while she remains in a half upright position. Needs more time to adjust – may be uncomfortable due to injury. Sprayed feliway 04/27/17 Lying on her side in center of kennel. She avoids making eye contact when spoken to by looking around the room. She attempts to get up and walk towards the back as I approach. I keep the interaction brief because of her injury. She tolerated petting on the head, looking around and trying to shift away. Sprayed feliway. May be uncomfortable due to medical condition. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage recently cleaned Reaction to assessor: Lucy was relaxed and sprawled out across her blanket. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lucy has soft eyes and gently kneads on her blanket. Reaction to cage door opening: Lucy is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Lucy sniffs the assessor’s hand then gently leans in allowing cheek rubs. She gently nudges the assessor’s hand for attention and allows petting all over. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Lap cat, Sweet Please note that this cat has a severe medical condition so we may not be seeing any true behavior and behavior may change when the cat’s medical condition improves.
