07/21/16 15:44 Basic Information: Lucy is an 8 year old spayed Brown Tabby & White DSH that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Lucy since she was a kitten. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers, Lucy can be shy for a few minutes at first then she will loosen up and solicit attention. Around adults, Lucy is respectful and relaxed but she doesn’t play. Lucy has lived with 14 other cats and she is relaxed, respectful and very tolerant of all of them. She has never been around dogs so her behavior is unknown. She has never bitten a person or another animal before. Behavior: Previous owners stated that Lucy does not have any behavioral or litterbox issues. Owner did not bathe Lucy. Lucy was not bothered by having nails trimmed. Lucy enjoyed having her coat brushed and being picked up and held. Lucy isn’t bothered by being put into a carrier. For a New Family to Know: Lucy is described as friendly, shy, and affectionate with a low activity level. Her favorite pastime is to be petted and scratched behind the ears and under the chin and talked to in a sweet voice. She was kept indoors only and is litter box trained. Lucy used an under covered litter box and Feline Pine all natural litter. She was fed dry and wet cat food. Lucy had a scratching post but hardly ever used it. Lucy like tree houses.

Lucy came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who described her as mellow and affectionate and notes that she socialized well with other cats in the home. Reaction to assessor: Lucy is lying in her cubby, relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lucy looks at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Lucy remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Lucy leans into petting, warms up quickly and begins to purr and head-butt. Reaction to pick up: Lucy is tolerant during this type of handling and curious about her surroundings. Placement Determination: Average Lucy does not approach the assessor, but appreciates petting and handling. Lucy is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents.
