08/02/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Lucky was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Hides in back of carrier, allows all handling with minimal restraint. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Lucky was curled up in the front of his cubby with tail wrapped around his body. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lucky watches the assessor, lip licks and doesn’t get up or leave his cubby when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Lucky retreats to the back of his cubby. Reaction to touch: Lucky curls up tight upon approach then buries his head inside the litter box. He seems very uncomfortable, his body feels very tense but he tolerates gentle pets on his head and along his back ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, Affectionate, Calm RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced, adult home only – Lucky tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
