Lonnie may not have gotten a lot of attention in that home, and is on the shy side but he did live with other kitties so is good with other cats. Behavior Determination: Experience
Lonnie is at-risk with an experienced determination. He displays fearful behavior in the stressful shelter environment. He will sniff the assessor and warm up to petting, but after interactions he retreats to the back and keeps a low body posture.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lonnie was timid upon intake. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Timid, shy, but easily handled for examination and treatment. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 09/27/17 Lying in back of kennel behind litterbox. Body is low and tail is wrapped around him. He tolerates petting along his head and body while turning to watch my hand and beginning to rapid breathe. Needs more time to adjust. Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Lonnie was lying down and alert on top his kuranda bed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lonnie lip licks then leans forward to investigate. Reaction to cage door opening: Lonnie remains calm. Reaction to touch: Lonnie leans forward to sniff then tilts his head allowing petting and rubs on his cheeks. He starts to warm up and gain confidence with attention, nudges the assessor’s hand then slowly inches forward seeking attention. Reaction to being picked up: Lonnie was tense when picked up, then got antsy and leaped back into the kennel. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Experience Behavior Asilomar TM – Treatable-Manageable BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Lonnie may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
