Hello, my name is Little Tom. My animal id is #11150. I am a male brown tabby kitten at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 months 2 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 30-Oct-2017, with the surrender reason stated as poor choice – too big.
Little Tom is at risk due to FELV. At this time there are no know behavior concerns for him (beginner determination).

[DVM Intake] DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 3m 2wks Microchip noted on Intake? neg History : O surrender Subjective: BAR, very sweet, quiet, and easy to handle. No signs of aggression. Observed Behavior – Evidence of Cruelty seen – n Evidence of Trauma seen – n Objective T = P = wnl R = eup BCS – 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, moderate amount of black waxy debris AU, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: mm pale pink, decid dentition, clean, no oral lesions PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: intact male, 2 testicles MSI: Ambulatory x 4, flea infested, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: normal externally Assessment fleas FeLV positive Prognosis: good Plan: Retro test — FeLV positive flea treatment plan for neuter SURGERY: Okay for surgery

Little Tom allowed me to pick im up and pet him. He was very relaxed when collared and mostly stayed still and let me take his picture. He meowed when picked up and his body tensed.

Basic Information:: Little Tom is a male brown tabby DSH. He was found as a stray 2 months ago and his finder kept him in hopes of re homing. He was surrendered because she was unable to find a home for him. He has no known injuries or health concerns but has not been to the vet.
Previously lived with:: 1 adult, 2 childre, 2 siblings
How is this cat around strangers?: Around strangers, Little Tom is friendly and outgoing and exuberant at play with adults.
How is this cat around children?: Little Tom lived with 2 children, one 8 year old and 1 10 year old. With them, he was relaxed and affectionate and exuberant at play.
How is this cat around other cats?: Little Tom lived with his 2 siblings and mom. With them he was relaxed and affectionate and exuberant at play. When he was outside and saw a bigger male cat, he ran away and kept his distance.
How is this cat around dogs?: Little Tom has no been around dogs.
Behavior Notes: Little time sleeps in car rides. When given baths he cries and struggles to get away. He also cries and is afraid when picked up. He isn’t bothered if he is placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping.
Bite history:: Little Tom has never attempted to bite a person or animal.

Medical Notes: Little Tom has no known injuries or medical concerns.
For a New Family to Know: Little Tom is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and talkative. His previous owner likes that he likes to explore. when his previous owner was home he followed her around. He likes to play with balls, string and paper balls. He was kept mostly indoors but at times went outside where his mother was. At night he slept in his previous owners bed. He ate dry 9 lives and is litter box trained. He used clay litter in an uncovered litter box.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Subjective:Bright, Alert, Responsive, very sweet, quiet, and easy to handle.
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: Resting on kuranda bed, soft eyes and body, looking around. Lay in place when door opened. Leaned into pets, closed eyes. Really likes throat rubs!
Cage Condition:: No change
Reaction to assessor:: Little Tom immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Little Tom remains soft in place.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Little Tom remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention.
Reaction to touch:: Little Tom head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body.
Reaction to being picked up:: Allows the pickup and remains calm.
ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Laid back
VOCAL:: Talkative
