12/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Linda was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Linda was curled up with her head hiding behind her bedding near the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Linda slowly turns her head towards the assessor and slow blinks. Reaction to cage door opening: Linda remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Linda closes her eyes and has a tense/stiff body when touched. She lip licks then turns her head away when the assessor runs his hand along her body. After a couple minutes she starts purring then leans her head in allowing cheek and neck rubs. Reaction to being picked up: Linda was a bit tense when held but remained calm and allows all handling. Please note that Linda is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Behavior Determination: Experience Linda may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
