Lily A1062551 – 2 yr female black/white mom & her kitten A1062552 (3 DAYS OLD):
Basic information
Lily is a 1 year old female black and white cat with no known medical conditions. Lily was surrendered with her 2 neonate kittens because of too many pets and she was too active.
Socialization
Lily has not been socialized with children or other dogs. Around other cats Lily is tense and runs away from them but after a few weeks will warm up to them. When lily warms up to another cat she becomes playful and plays gently with them. Lily was describes as independent, playful and affectionate with a high activity level. Lily is litter box trained but if the cat litter is to dirty she will go to the bathroom right outside the box. Previous owner usually cleaned the litter box once a day.
Behavior
Lily does not like to be bathed or have her nails trimmed. When attempting to bathe Lily became fearful and would struggle and scratch to get away from the water. Lily allows to be placed in the carrier and is tolerant of being brushed.
For the new family to know
Lily enjoys playing with strings balls and stuffed toys. When home with Lily she both likes to follow you around be in her favorite spots in the house. Lily uses a covered litter box with fresh step clumping litter. When Lily plays with adults she plays very gently. Lily has a vertical scratching post made of carpet that she loves to sit on top of. Lily enjoys eating both wet and dry would and prefers the brand Friskies.
Behavior during intake.
Lily was nursing her kittens during intake and was still affectionate. Lily sought out counselors hand and pushed her head and cheek into their hand.
