***SAFE 05/10/16*** SUPER SCARED, SPAYED AND HEALTHY YOUNG GIRL WILL DIE DUE TO FEAR–BE LILIAN’S HERO! Two year old black and white cutie, Lilian was dumped at the shelter by her former owner due to “attacking people.” As everyone knows, cats don’t just attack for no reason. We are not sure what the circumstances were for surrender–not much info was provided at intake. Lilian was with her former owner for all of a week before she ended up at the ACC. At first, Lilian tolerated petting with the enrichment facilitator but then got extremely fearful and what poor kitty wouldn’t be upset at the scary shelter? Now Lilian is on tonight’s at-risk list and in dire need of a patient and kind purrson who could work with her slowly and give her time to decompress from her shelter experience. Could you be that special purrson to offer Lilian a new “leash” on life–help her learn to trust people again? Let us know if you can help Lilian. Contact one of our New Hope partners or email our help desk and we will assist you–[email protected] Lilian needs a miracle. We are her only hope. Don’t let her down!!!

05/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lilian previous owner only had her for a week and was unable to give any information about her behavior. Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Lilian and at the time she allowed petting with the scratcher. When attempting to make contact she raises her paw and hisses. Lilain allows no contact. Reaction to assessor: Lilian does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Lilian does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Lilian becomes alert Reaction to touch: Lilian allowed very lil contact before hisses and lifts paw to strike Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Lilian seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Lilian may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate much petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
