During enrichment sessions he has shown to be fairly social and appears to enjoy being petted and receiving attention!

KNOWN HISTORY: Leonardo was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Allowed all handling ENRICHMENT NOTES: 05/03/17 Vocalizing as I enter the room. He’s lying on his side at the front of the kennel, breathing heavily. He begins purring as soon as I begin petting him, relaxing as his eyes become unfocused. He allows all petting for duration of session. He raises his head when I close his cage and begins meowing again – wants attention! Continues vocalizing as I make my way across the room, quieting down only when I speak to him or pet him again. Sprayed feliway. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Leonardo was at the front of the kennel, lying down on his side. Reaction when softly spoken to: Leonardo lifts his head up to make eye contact then meows loudly. Reaction to cage door opening: Leonardo is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Leonardo continues to meowing then leans in for attention. He allows petting all over, gives soft head butts then gets up and brushes against the assessor’s hand. Reaction to being picked up: Leonardo is calm, relaxed and allows all handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Talkative CHARACTER TYPE: Easy going, Affectionate, Lap cat Please note that Leonardo is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Leonardo interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.

Allowed all handling Evidence of Cruelty seen – No Evidence of Trauma seen – No Objective P = wnl R = wnl BCS 3/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Moderate dental tartar/gingivitis PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Male MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, slightly unkempt, underweight, muscle wasted CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: CT positive for FIV and FeLV, underweight, dehydrated BG 137 Plan: Rec LRS 100ml SQ q24 x 3 days and convenia 0.32ml SQ Prognosis: Poor SURGERY: Permanent waiver due to FeLV and FIV status in senior pet with signs of illness
