Reaction to assessor: Lemon looks tense, hiding in the cat den when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Lemon remains in place, alert with pupils dilated. Reaction to touch: Lemon avoids contact then hisses, charges the assessor’s hand and attempts to escape his cage. Placement determination: NH ONLY Lemon Ice is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
