Behavior:
As per previous owner, Around strangers Leah is friendly, outgoing and plays exuberantly. Leah has been around children ages 8 to 17. Around them she is affectionate and plays exuberantly. Leah’s previous owner has never seen Leah interact with other cats so it is unknown how she reacts to them. Leah has never been around dogs so it is unknown how she will react to them. Leah was described as: friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, assertive and talkative with a medium activity level. Leah likes to play with balls, string, and wand toys. Leah had a free choice of outside or inside with an open window.
Reaction to assessor: Leah does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed
When spoken quietly: Leah comes to the front of cage soliciting attention
Reaction to door cage opening: Leah remains soft and relaxed
Reaction to touch: Leah solicits petting and attention
Try picking cat up: Leah is tolerant of this type of handling

At the time of the assessment Leah was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Leah is displaying behavior appropriate for a new or experienced cat owner.

Leah is a year and 7 month old domestic short hair female cat who is energetic and friendly.
Socialization:
Around stranger Leah is friendly, outgoing and plays exuberantly. Leah has been around children ages 8 to 17. Around them she is affectionateand plays exuberantly. Leah’s owner has never seen Leah interact with other cats so it is unknown how she reacts to them. Leah has never been around dogs so it is unknown how she will react to them. Leah has never bitten or scratch ed another person or animal.
Behavior:
Leah will often go outside and spent a couple hours outdoors then return home. Leah has never been in a car so it is unknown how she will react to being in one. Leah’s previous owner did not attempt to give Leah a bath so it is unknow how she will react to that event. Leah enjoys having her nails trimmed, having her coat brushed, being held, being put in a carrier or disturbed while resting.
For a New Family to Know:
Leah is described as: friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, assertive and talkative with a medium activity level. When at home Leah will follow her ower around. Leah likes to play with balls, string, and wand toys. Leah has a free choice of outside or inside with an open window. Leah eats both wet and dry food twice a day. Leah is litter box trained and uses a uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Leah was not given a scratching post so it is unknown how she will react to one.
Intake Behavior:
Leah alloweed staff to take pictures and scan for a microchip with no signs of aggression. Leah had a slightly stiff body and shyed away from staff hands.
