LANNA – A1075526
Safe - 6-5-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
*** SAFE 06/05/16*** LANNA, as described by the assessor during intake, “she’s not thriving in the shelter! ” ….Who could possibly THRIVE in THAT environment? She’s barely 2 months old and expected to not be scared OR frightened? Not be vocal and hiss because she’s in a dumpy place? LANNA has been punished with a RESCUE ONLY rating! PLEASE, contact a New Hope rescue and offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT, it’s this poor baby’s only chance…. And she’s not likely to get another!

06/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Lanna was at the back of the cage tense in the corner When spoken quietly: Lanna stays at the back of the cage Reaction to door cage opening: Lanna hisses and tries to go further back Reaction to touch: Lanna hisses, strikes and does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Lanna was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Lanna seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Lanna may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
