Lakshani is a black female cat that was found on the street and brought to the ACC as a stray.

Cat was rushed to medical no handling was done.

DVM Intake Exam
Estimated age: 3-5 years
Microchip noted on Intake? negative
History : stray, finder stated cat has been losing weight. Came into BACC 3/21-parvo snap negative, unable to do any treatments except pyrantel due to no LVT in building
Subjective: BAR, ~10% dehydrated. No csvd. Diarrhea in cage and in litter box. No interest in food. Drinking water.
Observed Behavior – very sweet. Easily handleable. Did well for all medical handling and procedures
Evidence of Cruelty seen – no
Evidence of Trauma seen – no
P = bradycardic, ~100bpm
R = eupneic
EENT: Eyes clear but sunken in globes, AS chronic scarring from hematoma, both ears have thick black crusty debris, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: adult dentition with mild to moderate staining, jaw is stiff and difficult to open mouth, food in mouth, no oral lesions noted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: FI, no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 4 but weak, emaciated, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, dirty haircoat with diarrhea coating hindend
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
Place IVC and start on LRS @ 150ml/kg/day
Start cerenia 1mg/kg IV SID x3d until 3/24 (first dose given)
CBC/Chem scheduled but may have to do once more hydrated if unable to draw blood
Rec AXR once more stable
Rec NH placement ASAP for hospitalization, IVF, +/- abx, BW, rads
Prognosis: Fair to poor
SURGERY: temporary waiver due to emaciation/dehydration
