He’s a little scruffy from his time out on the mean streets all by his lonesome, but that hasn’t diminished his spirit and sweetness. When he finds his home, and gets to lounge on a couch (could it be yours?), he will be in seventh heaven. 08/31/17 17:40 Basic Information Lafayette is a male, brown and white tabby that is 6 years old. She owner was moving and unable to take him. She has been to the vet in the last year and has slight allergic reactions. Socailization Lafayette is good with strangers approaching him. He haslived with othr dogs in the house and has no problem sharing space with them he has shared a bed with a dog for most of his time in his last home. He is a very gentle when playing with children and adults. Behavior Lafayette is afraid of baths and is used to shampoo sprays. He enjoys being brushed and picked up and trims his own nails on a scrathing post. She never has litterbox problems. She is relaxed and sleeps durring car rides. For a new family Lafayette’s last owner describes him as friendly, affectionate, and playful. He will always follwo you into a room and lay around. He enjoys string, stuffed toys and scratching away at his post. Behavior during take in. Lafayette had a loose body and purring while being picked up and collared he rubbed up againt me and rolled on his belly when scratched behind the ear. he layed down and did not try to flee when taking his picture.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lafayette was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was friendly with the counselors during the intake process. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Allowed all handling, friendly and enjoyed petting, readily ate food and drank water offered. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat. Reaction to assessor: Lafayette was lying down by the back and was calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lafayette looks at the assessor and rolls over on his back. Reaction to cage door opening: Lafayette remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Lafayette nudges the assessor’s hand with his head and leans in for cheek rubs. He begins to purr and seems to really appreciate attention, continuously soliciting more attention when petting stops. Reaction to being picked up: Lafayette remains soft and continues to purr when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow, Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Lafayette interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
