06/25/17 15:04 Lady is an 11 year old altered female Brown tabby DSH mix; she came to her home 2 months ago from a previous owner and is being surrender due to the owner having personal problems. She has no known health issues or injures and has no recent vet history. Around strangers Lady is friendly and gentle; she has lived in home with children from ages 8 months-13 years old. Around the children Lady is friendly and gentle and allows them to pet her. She has never lived in a home with other animals and has no bite history. Lady likes to climb and scratch on the couch, and she loves being brushed and held. However lady will struggle to into the carrier and was described as friendly, playful, and affectionate with a high activity level. Lady loves playing with balls and cat nip toys. She is free feed dry food of various brands and is litter-box trained with a hooded box and fresh step litter.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: Adults and children (8months- 13 years old) Behavior toward strangers: Friendly and gentle Behavior toward children: Friendly and gentle Behavior toward cats: Unknown Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Bite or Scratch history: None Litter box training: Yes Energy level/descriptors: Friendly, playful, and affectionate with a high activity level Other notes: She likes to climb and scratch on the couch, and loves being brushed and held. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Some hissing and growling during exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 06/29/17 Lying down with a low body posture inside of litter box. Becomes alert when approached, but leans forward when the cage door opens. Sniffs my hand, and warms up when pet. Comes forward to explore around her and is a bit cautious, but mostly curious. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Lady was lying down at the back of the cage with her head lowered. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lady looks over at the assessor, lip licks and doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Lady becomes alert. Reaction to touch: Lady lip licks and seems unsure when the assessor approaches her. She sniffs then lowers her head and slinks away when attempting to pet her. She watches the assessor and allows petting with a slow approach but seems a little uncomfortable with a lot of attention. The end of her tail flicks back and forth and she grumbles when she’s had enough. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced cat parent – Lady may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
