***SAFE 09/23/16***KYLIE is a pretty 2 year old spayed brown female. She was brought in the shelter as a pregnant stray cat in April. She was spayed and her babies were aborted. She was adopted out and she thought she had found her furr-ever home, but she was brought back to the shelter and now she’s on the list to die at the shelter if she’s not rescued. KYLIE shows no aggression, despite her owners claims that she attacked them. This pretty girl allows all handling and is calm and relaxed. KYLIE would make a wonderful pet. Please don’t let her die a sad fate tomorrow, just because her owners didn’t want to keep her. She is a wonderful girl! Please SAVE SWEET KYLIE TODAY!!!

08/31/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Kylie was relaxed on her blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kylie purrs softly, comes forward and lightly head butts the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Kylie is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Kylie allows petting all over and appreciates attention. She turns around when rubbed on her lower back and nips lightly to stop. Her body is soft and she lightly head butts the assessor for attention. Reaction to being picked up: Kylie is a bit tense when held and looks around wary of his surroundings. Behavior Determination: Experience Kylie interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Although she has been displaying behaviors appropriate for cat parents with an average amount of experience, because she has been scratching at their legs and feet during feedings, we recommend she goes to a home with experienced cat parents who would be comfortable with management and modification techniques should this behavior continue in her new home. We believe this may be a form of overstimulation in anticipation of being fed, where she has a surplus of energy or excitement about the coming food – and her outlet was to target the owner’s feet. We recommend trying to put food out while another family member is playing with her with a wand-type toy or while she is closed off in another room, to prevent having your feet targeted. We also recommend the use of positive reinforcement techniques each time she displays an appropriate behavior.
