11/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kurt was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Kurt was alert and sitting straight up at the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kurt keeps his tail lowered, has wide eyes focused on the assessor, stress meows then slowly makes his way to the back. Reaction to cage door opening: Kurt lip licks and remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Kurt is hesitant and slowly leans away when the assessor extends his hand out. He tolerates petting on his head and along his back with a slow approach then becomes uncomfortable and hisses. He places his paw on the assessor’s hand as a warning to stop and lip licks with his eyes focused on all movements. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Kurt tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
