She was surrendered because her ex owner said she was aggressive. Since at the shelter KITTY CHLOE has been a purring sweetie. However due to her history they recommend an experienced adopter. PLEASE GIVE THIS GIRL A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! MUST RESERVE BY NOON!

Hello, my name is Kitty Chloe. My animal id is #12544. I am a female muted calico cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 2 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 13-Nov-2017, with the surrender reason stated as animal behaviour – aggressive towards people.
Kitty Chloe is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with Upper Respiratory Infection, which is contagious to other cats. Behaviorally, Kitty Chloe has been assessed as requiring a cat experienced home.

Was suspected to be pregnant on intake, vomiting noted in kennel today S/O -QAR, docile but seems slightly lethargic -mm pk, sl tacky; CRT <2 sec -no nasal discharge or sneezing noted or reported -OU: open and clear -eupnic -mild pot bellied appearance/slightly distended abdomen, no palpable fetuses; possible pyometra? -no vulvular discharge A Distended abdomen-r/o pyometra vs pregnancy vs Vomiting P sedated with 0.2 ml torb/0.1 ml dexdomitor IM 2 view abdominal rads-no evidence of pregnancy or pyometra; intestinal tract appears empty and normal gave 200 ml SQF gave 0.5 ml cerenia SQ monitor appetite, energy level and for continued episodes of vomiting
Had 2 episodes of vomiting on 11/21, abdominal rads WNL; tx with SQF and cerenia S/O -QAR, interactive and docile; allows gentle handling but resists a lot of handling -good appetite -no vomiting or diarrhea reported -no nasal discharge or sneezing -OU: mild to moderate blepharospasm, increased epiphora; crusting discharge at medial canthus A Conjunctivitis Episode of vomiting-appears resolved P erythromycin OU BID x 7 days monitor for development of URI
Recheck conjunctivitis, day 5 erythromycin S/O -QAR -mild appetite -multiple episodes of sneezing, serous nasal discharge -OU: mild blepharospasm -eupnic A Conjunctivitis URI-newly diagnosed P 100 ml SQF SID x 3 days cerenia 0.5 ml SQ SId x 2 days doxycycline 0.9 ml PO SID x 10 days
Day 3 doxycycline for URI S/O -QAR, appears lethargic -no significant appetite -sneezing, nasal congestion -OU: mild blepharospasm, no discharge -eupnic A URI Inappetance/lethargy-likely related to URI P dexamethasone SP 4 mg/ml: 0.25 ml SQ today continue doxycycline recheck tomorrow

KNOWN HISTORY:: Kitty Chloe was brought in as a stray so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Observed Behavior -calm, seeks petting
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 11/14/17 In den on approach, meowed and poked head out when spoken to. A little cautious at first, allowed touch, then warmed up significantly when given treats. Came the rest of the way out, leaned and arched into pets, purred. Very chatty! 11/15/17 Dozing on bedding, woke when spoken to. Stood and came to the front, soft eyes and body, lots of meowing. Leaned into pets, purred. Twitched, meowed, looked over shoulder whenever pet on body. Stayed at the front after door closed, rubbed against the bars. 11/16/17 Asleep on bedding, woke when spoken to. Stretched and came to the front when door opened, soft eyes and body, already meowing. Leaned into head pets, still meows and turns to look when pet on body. Stayed at the front after door closed, started rubbing against bars. 11/19/17 Resting on bedding, soft eyes and body. Stood and came to the front on approach, started meowing. Leaned enthusiastically into pets, continued meowing throughout and after interaction. 11/20/17 Curled up asleep on bedding next to den, woke and came to the front when door opened, started meowing. Leaned enthusiastically into pets, still whining when pet on rear. uneaten.

Reaction when softly spoken to:: Kitty Chloe meows and comes out to the front of the cage, soft eyes and body.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Kitty Chloe remains calm and relaxed.
Reaction to touch:: Kitty Chloe leans and arches into the stroke and begins to purr.
Reaction to being picked up:: Kitty Chloe sits calmly in the assessor’s arms and looks around.

The details about the previous incident, including trigger, warning signs, and severity are unknown, and this behavior has not been seen during her time in the shelter
