07/03/16 13:13 BASIC INFO Kirry A1079823 is a 5 year old domestic shorthair cat. She was a gift to the owner from a family friend 2 years ago. The main reason for surrender is that the owner is going to have a new baby. Kirry does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Kirry is very shy around strangers. She has to get used to you before she interacts with you. Kirry does not play adults or children. She does love to play with any cat toy that she can get her paws on. Kirry has never lived with another animal. BEHAVIOR The only behavior issue that Kirry has, is that she scratches on furniture. Kirry allows you to pick her up and place her in a carrier. She is not bothered if disturbed from her sleep. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Kirry is best described as very independent and affectionate. She has a high activity level and loves to play with any kind of cat toy. When home, she follows you around. She has been kept mostly indoors. Kirry sleeps on a cat bed. She has a tower made of carpet that is her scratching post. She is fed Meow Mix dry food. She uses a regular litter box with any kind of litter. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Kirry was very vocal and fleed once pictures of her were trying to be taken.

Kirry’s previous owner reports she is very shy around strangers. She has to get used to them before she interacts with them. She isn’t playful with adults or children, but loves to play with all types of cat toys. She allows the owner to pick her up and place her into a carrier. She was described as a very independent, but affectionate cat with a high activity level. She tends to follow the owner around when at home. Reaction to assessor: Kirry was lying down, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kirry meows softly and stretches. She doesn’t come to the front, but looks at the assessor with soft eyes and lip licks. Reaction to cage door opening: Kirry becomes alert, but remains calm. Reaction to touch: Kirry head-butts as soon as she is touched and warms up fairly quickly. She gets up and twirls in a circle, leaning in for petting, and is very affectionate. Reaction to being picked up: Kirry remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Kirry interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
