Litter box training: Y EVALUATION: Cage Condition:, no change, Reaction to assessor: Calm and observant Reaction when softly spoken to: Neutral and interested Reaction to cage door opening: Perked up and ran to door Reaction to touch: Was favorable allowed chin and head rubs Reaction to being picked up: When pick up was attempted Killarney began growling and had to be left alone ENRICHMENT NOTES: Pregnant, some mild dermatitis and alopecia. Held immobile and started lip licking when touched. Sprayed feliway. 2/2/17 Progress! Resting on bedding towards back, eyes dilated. Lay head down after a bit, posture relatively soft, seemed to doze off. Became alert again when door opened, started lip licking, backed up, then softened again when touched. Leaned into pets, rolled over, started to knead in place. Quiet grumbling? Sprayed feliway. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: nervous, tense ACTIVITY LEVEL:, Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social RECOMMENDATIONS: [Overall placement determination] _x_ Experienced cat parent Killarney did not appear to like being picked up during her behavior evaluation. Please keep in mind there are many reasons why a cat may be uncomfortable with this type of handling and that this may not necessarily translate into a home environment. We recommend any future home with children be counseled in respecting the cat’s space and for the family to use care when picking her up, especially while she is still adjusting to her new home. Behavior observations x__ Experience Killarney tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter.
