***SAFE 11/12/17*** FELV POSITIVE KIERA IS A FRIENDLY GIRL WHO LOVES SITTING ON THE WINDOWSILL AND TAKING IN THE SURROUNDINGS!! KIERA is a 5 yr old healthy girl who was surrendered by her owner. Kiera lived with 10 other cats and got along with them well. She is playful and has purrfect litterbox manners. Sadly, she tested positive for FELV and the shelter said she must exit NOW!! IF YOU CAN GIVE A HOME TO THIS STUNNING LITTLE HOUSE PANTHERETTE – YOU MUST RESERVE HER BY NOON!!

I came into the shelter as a owner surrender on 04-Nov-2017, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- landlord won’t allow.
Keira is at risk due to being FELV+. There are no known behavior concerns for kiera at this time.

Upon intake, Kiera allowed to be collared inside her carrier. Kiera allowed to be picked up out the carrier and allowed picture to be taken.

Basic Information:: Kiera is approximately a 2 year old black female domestic short haired cat. Kiera lived with previous owner for about a year but was surrendered because previous owner’s landlord does not allow pets. Kiera has no known injuries or health problems and has not seen the vet recently.
Previously lived with:: Kiera lived with one adult and 10 cats.
How is this cat around strangers?: Kiera is observant of strangers but will warm up and approach strangers. Kiera will allow strangers to pet her.
How is this cat around children?: Kiera has not interacted with children.
How is this cat around other cats?: Kiera lived with 10 other cats and was very playful. Kiera would pounce and jump on the other cats and would play very rough sometimes swatting.
How is this cat around dogs?: Kiera has not interacted with dogs.
Behavior Notes: During car rides, Kiera will cry or meow. Kiera has never been given a bath and when previous owner tried to trim her nails she would hiss, swat, and bite. Kiera enjoys having her coat brushed but does not like to be picked up and held for too long. Kiera also struggles when being put into a carrier and meows once she is inside.
Bite history:: Kiera has not tried to bite another human or animal.

For a New Family to Know: Kiera is a mellow, assertive, independent cat that enjoys sitting at the window sill and observing her surroundings. Kiera likes to play with string and wand toys. Kiera is an indoors only cat that was free-fed both wet and dry food. Kiera is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litterbox with Feline Pine cat litter. Kiera had a cardboard scratching post and sometimes scratches on the door.
