KIA was brought in as a stray and has pretty much done a whole lot of head-butting since she came to the ACC. But on the 10th she decided that the ACC was not all it was cracked up to be so she hissed and got that Experience rating…..Seriously?? KIA IS A KUTIE AND DESERVES A HOME TONIGHT AND NOT A NEEDLE….The only reason she is listed is the damn shelter cold…..BLACK GOES WITH EVERYTHING…Let’s make sure KIA goes to a NEW HOME!!

07/11/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Kia was lying down by the back of her kennel, calm and relaxed. Reaction when spoken to quietly: Kia looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes and lip licks. Reaction to door cage opening: Kia becomes slightly alert, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Kia sticks her head forward to sniff the assessor’s hand. She head-butts lightly when touched and slowly comes to the front. She begins to warm up with more petting; she lifts her tail and leans in for petting. She does seem wary of her surroundings, but continues to head-butt and seems to appreciate petting. Try picking cat up: Kia allows handling, but was eager to get back into her kennel. Once placed back inside, she head-butts the assessor again. Behavior Determination: Experience Kia interacts with the observer and seems to appreciate attention, but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Date: 07/10/16 Reaction to assessor: Kia was resting at the back of the cage When spoken quietly: Kia continues to resting Reaction to door cage opening: Kia appears wary of the assessor but remains motionless Reaction to touch: Kia hisses but allows peting with a slow approach Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Kia was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes wary when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
