11/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kendal was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Kendal was lying down at the front of the kennel with wide eyes focused on all movements. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kendal re adjusts his weight, lip licks then slowly inched away with his tail lowered. Reaction to cage door opening: Kendal lowers his head and seems wary of his surroundings. Reaction to touch: Kendal has wide eyes fixated on the assessor’s movements and leans away upon approach. He remains immobile, doesn’t react to touch and his body feels a bit tense. After a couple soft passes he moves away with his tail lowered and retreats into his litter box. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Kendal tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
