Subjective: Sternal recumbency. Meows, looks around. Doesn’t attempt to get up.
Observed Behavior – Allows all handling, doesn’t protest at all
Evidence of Cruelty seen – None
Evidence of Trauma seen – Blood on face, not getting up – suspect fx left stifle and facial trauma

BCS 5/9
QAR-H, MMs pink and moist
EENT: Mild bloody discharge at medial canthus OD. No conjunctivitis or other sign of eye trauma OU. Large amount of crusted and active bloody nasal discharge. Ears clean.
Oral Exam: Small amount bloody saliva around gingiva, no dental trauma. Clean adult teeth. No mandibular laxity or crepitus.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: Tachycardia. NSR, NMA, Very quiet lung sounds.
ABD: Soft, non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: Male intact, testicles small, soft and symmetrical
MSI: No attempts to stand up or walk. Laxity palpated in left stifle region. No other areas of skeletal laxity, swelling. Small amount of blood on front paws – appears to be from mouth/nose. Small ulceration between left hind 2nd and 3rd toes. Skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat.
CNS: Slightly dull.
Rectal: Normal externally
Assessment: Suspect HBC
1. Facial trauma, no sign of mandibular fracture
2. Suspect fracture near left stifle
3. Possible lung trauma
4. Small wound on left hind foot
Prognosis: Fair
Plan:
1. Sedate: Simbadol 0.45 ml SQ, midazolam 0.2 ml IM, butorphanol 0.1 ml IM
2. Rads: 3-view chest, 2-view LHL, 2-view pelvis
3. Place IVC
4. IV LRS bolus 75 ml/hr for 1 hour, then 7 ml/hr
5. Continue Simbadol 0.45 ml SQ SID x10 days
