I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 01/28/2016 from NY 11234, owner surrender reason stated was ABANDON.

01/28/16 11:13 Keisha is a year and 8 month old female black domestic shorthair. Finder stated she is friendly towards strangers and is outgoing. She eats dry food and is free fed. She uses an uncovered litterbox and clay litter. She is not bothered when placed in a carrier or when held. Upon intake Keisha was calm had a loose body, she allowed all handling. Counselor was able to scan (negative), collar and photograph. Keisha hissed when being placed inside the carrier.

Keisha was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Keisha makes eye contact and comes forward slowly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Keisha head butts the kennel door and reaches out with paws. Reaction to cage door opening: Keisha is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Keisha allows petting and will rub up against the assessor’s hand. Keisha is calm, relaxed and appreciates attention. Reaction to being picked up: Keisha is calm, relaxed and has a soft body when held. Behavior Determination: Beginner Keisha interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
